Over the years that we’ve been taking parties to Wicksteed, we’ve done pretty well as regards the weather; this year was different. Still the show must go on….
The rain and wind welcomed our coach full of excited families to Wicksteed! The morning was, wet, sorry; very wet and cold! We normally lay the lunch out on tables, in the open air. This was going to be a problem as sandwiches lose their appeal when they get wet.
However, the kind staff at Wicksteed gave us a room to lay out the picnic lunch and by the time we’d eaten, the sun was shining and the ground drying and everyone raced out to enjoy the rides! The coach returning home was full of happy, tired youngsters, about a third of them were asleep before we reached the A14!!
