6th May was Ickwell May Day that time of the year when we look forward to a forthcoming summer. Unfortunately the rain came the rain came at about 1.30 just when the dancing around the may pole was due to begin. It kept drizzling off and on for most of the afternoon but the attendees were resilient and just kept walking around in the rain. Nevertheless, we had a good day.  Thank you to everyone who came by our way.

2024 - Carnivals, Fêtes and Fun Days

2nd June Shefford STMA Fête was lovely sunny day and the people of Shefford turned out in their droves.  It was a brilliant day for everyone.

30th June- Dunton Fête  A typical village fête with about 10 stalls, a similar number of car boot holders, bouncy castle etc. Due to a recent donation of a large number of family games it was decided to offer skittles, golf, lucky dip, sunglasses, quiz sheets and family games

6th July - Langford Fête  - The forecast was for rain for most of the day.  It continued to rain quite heavily until 12.30. then the rain stopped and there were occasional glimpses of blue sky. People started to arrive and various events including a dog show began in the two arenas. It stayed dry for most of the afternoon  A man came to the soft toy game to win a toy for his black poodle. The dog left wagging its tail with the toy in its mouth and Keith managed to get a photo

Langford’s happiest prize winner?

Sheltering at Sandy

15th June Sandy Carnival We managed to erect the gazebo in the dry and then the rains came. Fortunately the rain stopped at about 1.30 allowing the children to march in the procession in the dry. They arrived at the field at 2 – 2.30 and the sun came out. Despite some very black clouds we had no further rain.
